Borrowed Voices: Hymns Reimagined began as an effort to creatively reinterpret music that shaped my own spiritual formation over many years. These arrangements draw from familiar hymn melodies, reimagined instrumentally and left open enough to invite the listener’s own reflections.
Whether approached from a place of faith or simply as music, it is my hope that these pieces carry forward something of the peace, hope, and joy that inspired their original composers.
It was a privilege to once again collaborate with my uncle, Glenn Lafy, on the design of the album’s artwork.
This physical edition offers a tangible way to engage the music, including printed liner notes, and helps support the creation of further work.
